Eric Bruce, President

Eric Bruce’s journey of community service commenced with the United States Army, where he dedicated himself a life of service.  Eric served with Military Police and as a Special Agent with the US Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID) for a total of 32 years commencing with his military retirement in 2016 as a Chief Warrant Officer Four (CW4).  Along with felony investigations, Eric served as an Executive Protection professional providing personal security for the Secretary of Defense, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Secretary of the Army, Commanding General in Kosovo, Supreme Allied Commander – Europe (SACEUR), Military Representative to NATO, and many other senior military and cabinet leadership.  He has conducted security operations in over 75 countries including several missions in Afghanistan and Iraq, and all surrounding countries. 

 

Eric’s dedication to success, professionalism, and learning was enhanced with the completion of his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in criminal justice and terrorism studies.  Following retirement in 2016, he briefly worked as an Operations Manager with the Safety and Security Office for the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), managing security operations for a college campus spread out within the city of Savannah, Georgia.  Subsequently, he returned to the US Army CID to lend his expertise as a civilian Evidence Custodian in 2018.  Eric first joined the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department FOP while serving at Ft Bragg, NC with US Army CID from 1992 to 1995.  After a deployment overseas, he joined Battlefield Lodge 43 in Fairfax, VA while serving with the US Army CID at Ft Belvoir, VA from 1999 to 2013, where he remained an active member of the lodge while reassigned twice to Belgium and back to Ft Belvoir.  Following his reassignment to Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah, GA in 2013, Eric transferred to the Mobley-Giles-Willis Lodge 7 and has remained an active member ever since. 

 

Eric became the President of Lodge 7 in April 2022 following the unexpected death of the then current President Aulmon Giles.  Aulmon had elevated Eric to the position of Vice-President in Feb 2022 to fulfill a vacancy on the Executive Board.  Eric is currently fulfilling the position of Secretary following the untimely death of Jack Willis Jr, a past President of over 20 years and who had been filling the position of Secretary before his death in January 2024.
